The industry term “or similar” indicates that while a Jeep is preferred, an equivalent vehicle may be provided if necessary. It’s very uncommon not to receive a Jeep. If this happens, please contact us at 1-800-292-1930 from the rental desk, and we will ensure you get a Jeep.

I’ve seen them mentioned several times on the forums here, and there website makes claims of getting Jeeps. However the story changes once you get here to ‘you get whatever the rental company has’ and ‘you don’t need a 4wd anyhow’. I’ll follow up more when we get back to the mainland but just wanted to warn off anyone else from the false advertising scam.
